“Wis. jury: Father guilty in prayer death case (OneNewsNow.com)”
A father let his little girl die and not only dares to deny his responsibility but blames it on God!
“If I go to the doctor, I am putting the doctor before God,” Dale Neumann testified. “I am not believing what he said he would do.”
Does God say we should not use wise counsel, doctors or medicine? Where did the Neumanns get the ludicrous notion God said going to a doctor was “putting the doctor before God” ?
What kind of nonsense leads a parent to deny medical care to their own daughter when they could get it, leading to her death? Satanic deception, plain and simple.
But wait a minute, is it possible I am wrong? Is it possible Jesus said we should heal one another by faith and not go to a doctor?
Pastor John MacArthur, considered by many to be the “Pope” of Evangelicalism and certainly one of Christianity’s most clear thinkers, answered this in his sermon entitled “Does God Still Heal?“, free at GTY.org,
“God didn’t give you an HMO in your salvation, a sort of supernatural HMO that works automatically. God heals when He wants and when He wishes, but that’s up to Him.”, says Pastor MacArthur, and I agree with him.
Neumann will be be tried for manslaughter; I wouldn’t want to be in his shoes on Judgment Day. God can have mercy on Neumann if he repents, but he and his wife Leilani will always have the death of their daughter on their conscience. Pity them, don’t hate them.
John MacArthur said,
“God may heal. That poses the final question, should a Christian go to the doctor?… in Isaiah 38, King Hezekiah was deathly ill, and you remember the king was crying, and he was crying tears, and then he was crying to the Lord, and God answered his request and He says this, ‘Let them take a cake of figs and apply it to the boil, that he may recover.’ Isn’t that good? That’s what we used to call a poultice. Right? Now God is saying, ‘Do the medical thing.’ In Matthew 9:12, Jesus confirmed the same idea when He said this, ‘It’s not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick.’ So the Lord has given us that instruction also.”
Neumann should have looked into the face of his daughter and realized his responsibility is to do everything he can, before God, to see she is made well. Should he pray? Yes, very much so, while he calls the Doctor.
If you are listening to or under someone who advocates faith healing let me just make this final point…
No faith healer’s “miracles” have ever been scientifically verified. That fact alone should settle the question of any parent on whether God wants you to take your child to a Doctor.
In closing Pastor MacArthur says,”…I want to reiterate that I believe God can heal, God can do anything He wants to do. I do not believe the gift of healing is for today because it was to authenticate the Biblical message and messenger. That is in place; it needs no more authentication then the authentication given to it by the Spirit of God to the heart of the reader, but I do believe that God may in His grace chose to heal, and we have every right to pray for that, at the same time seek the finest medical help that we can because the Lord desires us to do that as well.”
Someone send Dale and Leilani Neumann Pastor MacArthur’s book in prison:
